At Quaker Road, we are lucky enough to have two playground structures in the back of our yard. However, one of the structures has become old, is beginning to erode, and has to be torn down. The structure furthest from the school is slated to be removed as soon as the Grounds Department can do so.

We have started a playground committee with staff, parents and students to look over our options to replace our playground equipment.  This committee has been consulting with our School Advisory Council, sharing information and soliciting advice.  The next step is to raise funds necessary to replace the structure.

Description: http://www.clker.com/cliparts/R/q/f/z/C/C/2-in-circle-md.pngDo you have a business that would like to support our playground fund?  We will be erecting a plaque that will recognize all of our contributors.  The larger the contribution, the larger the recognition on the plaque.  In addition, all donating partners will be recognized through our school newsletter, our Facebook site and the school website.  For substantial donations, we would be happy to support a donation event/press release.

Some ideas from other schools which are advertised through the school:

  • A Real Estate agent will donate a small percentage of each commission from listings from parent(s)/guardian(s) of students at the school.
  • A restaurant holds a special night donating a percentage of sales
  • A contractor donates a percentage of sales from work done for parent(s)/guardian(s) of students at the school.

If you would like to support our playground project, please contact the principal, Mr. Leduc at Mark.Leduc@dsbn.org or phone 905-732-5412.
