HAPPY HEALTHY HEART MONTH
Get your family up and moving this month to promote healthy living and healthy hearts. It is a busy month here at Quaker Road School so please check the calendar to stay on track and participate in our activities.
We are excited to attend Centennial's play this year which explores the relationship of Aboriginal Women with the Spirit World.
We will also celebrate Canada's Flag with some fun activities on the 15th.
Our Lego Robotics team is busy practising so they can compete at an upcoming competition.
And we will once again wear PINK to show that we won't and don't tolerate meanness and bullying of others.
OUR GOALS FOR THIS YEAR
1. Improving student thinking and perseverance while working on math questions.
2. Increase the use of complex multiple choice questions so students are familiar with doing the math required to make the correct choice.
3. Support students in the dissection and understanding of questions when answering open ended questions so they can provide an accurate and thorough response.
At Quaker Road, we are pleased to offer outstanding education our students. Innovative programs that meet the needs of all our students are taught by our dedicated and professional staff who care about your child. Our school provides extra-curricular opportunities that encourage the development of excellence, integrity and respect.
Our Board is focused on literacy and numeracy achievement and creating an environment where we are working together on our goal of success for every student. We also value the community partnerships and parent involvement which are so crucial to a successful education for our students.
We welcome your input and questions.
As a family, Quaker Road School will inspire meaningful, community-centred learning experiences through the creation of a safe, inclusive environment. We strive to develop engaged responsible, respectful, and resourceful global citizens by building a community of learners that are accountable and contributing members of our society.
