HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OUR FAMILIES. WE HOPE YOU HAD A FUN AND INTERESTING BREAK AND ARE READY TO GET BACK TO WORK ON LEARNING AND GROWING AS THINKERS. REPORT CARDS WILL COME OUT IN EARLY FEBRUARY, SO JANUARY WILL BE SPENT WITH TEACHERS DOING SOME FINAL ASSESSMENTS OF ACHIEVEMENT TO BE ABLE TO REPORT ON YOUR CHILD'S GROWTH.

WE HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF PARENTS STEP FORWARD TO HELP US WITH BREAKFAST CLUB SO WILL BE RESUMING IT AS OF JANUARY 16TH. WE COULD STILL USE A COUPLE OF ADDITIONAL HELPERS SO PLEASE CALL US IF YOU'RE ABLE TO HELP OUT ON A DAY.

STUDENTS WILL BE GOING OUTSIDE FOR BOTH BREAKS ON A REGULAR BASIS, SO PLEASE ENSURE THAT THEY HAVE PROPER CLOTHING TO KEEP WARM AND FREE FROM THE RISK OF FROSTBITE. WE WILL STAY IN IF THE TEMPERATURE/WIND CHILL DROPS BELOW -20.

OUR GOALS FOR THIS YEAR

1. Improving student thinking and perseverance while working on math questions.

2. Increase the use of complex multiple choice questions so students are familiar with doing the math required to make the correct choice.

3. Support students in the dissection and understanding of questions when answering open ended questions so they can provide an accurate and thorough response.
