Message from the Principal

Happy Spring, Quaker Road Community.  April was an extremely busy and productive month at Quaker!  We had some outstanding performances from our Junior Basketball teams and our Badminton team, excellent community building activities within our Community Colour groups, and our Eco-committee has been hard at work teaching students about; and reinforcing the concept of being responsible global citizens.  Students have been hard at work exploring some of the new technology in the classroom, and some have actively participated in our afterschool Basic program, which just ended this past Wednesday.  As we head into the final two months of school, there will be no time to sit back!  We have many exciting educational opportunities planned for kids, as well as extra-curricular activities.  Track and Field season is in full-swing, our Intermediate Rugby team is working hard, and 3-pitch baseball is on the horizon.  We are also looking forward to the return of an Annual Fun-Fair here at Quaker Road School as well.  What a great way for us to get together as a community to help support school initiatives, and more importantly to have some fun!  We appreciate the efforts of our Fun Fair committee members for all of their hard work preparing for this event, as well of the support of many community businesses and parents who have generously donated toward this event.  A huge thank you also to the teachers and students who have made such an important commitment to sports teams and other school clubs such as our eco-Green Team; your efforts help make Quaker such a great place to be.
